Adeline Gray gold medal winner of the Pan Am games in Toronto for women’s wrestling is on the show for an Under Ten Fitness Takeover. During this segment we play clips from others shows to highlight what is going on out there and get some great content from other sources.
This week’s takeover comes from a show called “The Edge” where the host Dirk Hobbs interviews some of the world’s greatest athletes and in some cases these athletes have been to the “edge” and back. This interview is with a young women who is full of energy and life. She is currently training right here in Colorado Springs at the Olympic training center where she hopes to join someday as an Olympian.
During her interview Adeline really opens up and lets us in to see what goes through her mind while she is out on the mat giving it her all. Taking us from what goes on at the training center all the way through to the final seconds of her matches. From start to finish she tells it all and really inspires us when she talks about what mental struggles she goes through when wrestling some of the toughest women in the sport.
With most sports the real struggle is mental, when your body is tired and you feel like you can’t go on how do you dig down to find that last drop of energy to keep going? The mind will give up long before the body ever will but how do we learn to push through? Listen to Adeline describe her last few seconds during a match where she was down big with just seconds left it looked like she was going to lose. She kept fighting and never gave up mentally and ended up winning the match as time ran out.
Stories like these you can’t find anywhere else! Listen to Adeline’s interview right here: The Edge
