Andy Martin owner of Tri-Pillar Fitness Joins the show today, this interview is long overdue and has some great content! Andy has been training for many years and has trained a variety of clients from seniors who just want to be mobile and feel better to high school athletes who are looking to improve their skills. However the bulk of Andy’s clients are everyday people who maybe have a few pounds to lose or guys who want to gain some size.
Andy started his gym in a 200 sq. foot apartment living room back in 2011 and has since moved into a 1000 sq. foot space in Colorado Springs located on Templeton Gap. He has coached multiple people through powerlifting competitions and helped numerous clients drop pounds and inches off of their waist lines.
I first saw Andy when he was training out of his apartment and have been with him ever since. When I first started training I weighed about 140 pounds and could bench press about 90 Lbs. And my Squat was about 95 Lbs. I had never really deadlifted before then. Today I weigh 183 pounds and I am actually leaner than I was at 140 pounds which means I’ve gained close to 40 pounds of muscle mass over the past 4 years! Also my bench press has doubled and my squat has more than tripled. The best part is I feel fantastic! I have more energy than I’ve ever had and I look at life in a way that inspires me every day because as Andy says “life is easier when you’re in shape.” It’s true I don’t struggle with feeling tired or weak I have the stamina to make it through whatever the day has in store for me and not to mention I have a better self-image and I really enjoy my life and never find myself wishing that things were different.
